DORNIER staff and creditors may be in a position on Tuesday (5 November) to know what the future holds. A meeting called by the administrator Eberhard Braun should reveal whether there is a way forward with one of two firms competing to take over the bankrupt company. Bids have been received from a US private equity firm Dimeling, Schreiber and Park, who want to continue with the 328 JET line, and from Russian investors whose plans appear to complete the 728/928 project and carry on with the successful aerostructures division, a supplier to Airbus. If the American bid succeeds the 728 will be the first serious commercial aircraft to be officially rolled out and never flown.
