DEUTSCHE BA, British Airways owned, but with a ”sold to easyJet ” subject to contract” sign over it, has made a dramatic comeback under the tutelage of CEO Adrian Hunt. In April this year the airline changed from being a full service airline to a no frills carrier, ditched its three international routes, and re-painted its 16 strong Boeing 737-300 aircraft fleet in an eye catching apple green. DBA has seen its market share increase by 5% giving it 42% of a German domestic market that has declined by 8%. Load factor has increased by 7% to 65%. Roger Maynard, BA director of alliances said. ”This is a great opportunity for DBA. The successful implementation of the new strategy can secure the company”s future, either with easyJet, or on its own.
