DELTA AIR LINES: The US airlines are not noted for the quality of their in-flight services particularly on domestic operations.
In an effort to eradicate this perception Delta introduced last week a new ”BusinessElite” meal service, specially designed by one of New York's finest chefs, Troy Dupuy of La Caravelle restaurant, on its routes to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Negative news from Delta is that the airline plans to introduce a $US4 charge for alcohol, including beer, wine and spirits on its international flights between the US and Europe, India, Japan, Argentina, Brazil and Chile.
On 1 March 2003, the carrier will phase in the charge on its remaining Mexican, Central and South American flights.
Continental Airlines introduced a similar policy at the start of the summer season.
