US carrier Delta Air Lines has launched two metrics that provide corporate customers with detailed operational performance information on specific flights, including itineraries with connections.
The Trip Fulfilment Factor measures the likelihood of a corporate passenger experiencing a disruption-free flight, including connections. Meanwhile, the Trip On-Time Factor measures the likelihood of a customer reaching their final destination on time.
Delta says that combined, the two factors allow corporate customers to compare trip options across Delta and its major US competitors, whether a trip is non-stop or has multiple connections, so they can make a more informed decision on which flight they choose.
The carrier claims to be the first to provide corporate customers with these account-specific metrics on routes their travellers fly. Travel managers can access the information via their Delta sales account manager, with future access due via the Delta Pro travel management portal.
The metrics add to the airline’s existing Operational Excellence Calculator and Operational Performance Commitment, which were introduced in 2016 and 2015, respectively.
Kristen Shovlin, VP of sales operations and development at Delta, said: “Two of the things we value most at Delta are leading the industry in operational reliability, and listening and responding to feedback from our customers. The new operational performance metrics we’re launching today reflect our commitment to both of those values.”
The Trip Fulfilment Factor and Trip On-Time Factor data will initially be available for flights originating in North America, but Delta says it expects to expand it to include international and codeshare flights in the future.”
