BUZZ is to disappear for the month of April, according to a somewhat turgid statement distributed by new owners Ryanair. Twelve routes will go and 12 will continue providing the remaining 200 Buzz staff agree to new terms of employment which, according to the press release, offers improved pay and productivity allowances. Passengers booked on flights during this period will presumably be able to claim a full refund, but with a ticketless airline proving purchase is not straightforward. With the relatively small sums involved it is thought that a lot of people will just not bother. To date, around 55,000 passengers holding tickets to fly with Buzz from Bournemouth have been told their flights are definitely cancelled. A group of passengers is planning legal action to recover car hire and accommodation losses and the pilots union is looking into the phasing out of the BAe 146 aircraft fleet without an offer to re-train flight crew staff on to the Boeing 737. http://www.buzzaway.com
