Brussels Airlines has announced it will launch a route between Brussels and Montreal, Canada on 29 March 2020, and will cease its seasonal flights to Toronto in January.
The carrier will offer five flights a week to Pierre Elliott Trudeau International airport during the summer season on Monday and Thursday to Sunday. They will depart Brussels at 1015, landing in Montreal at 1205 local time, with the return service taking off at 1825 and arriving at 0710 the following day.
Flights will be operated an Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which includes Brussels Airlines’ new Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class.
Frederic Dechamps, senior director of sales Belgium – Brussels Airlines at Lufthansa Group, said: “Montreal is a real added value for the Brussels Airlines network. It is a strong market out of Belgium, with over 75,000 potential travellers a year. Montreal is very relevant both for business and leisure travellers, and the appealing destination can easily be stimulated for both individual and group travel. We are looking forward to adding Montreal to our portfolio.”
In addition, the carrier has announced it will stop flying from Brussels to Toronto, with the final service due to take off on 7 January 2020. It said passengers already booked on flights beyond this date would be offered alternative options.
With the remaining capacity, Brussels Airlines will adjust its Washington DC route to a year-round service in response to a “high demand” for flights between the US capital and the carrier’s African destinations. For the summer season, the service will be offered daily, dropping to four times a week in the winter.
