British Airways is to axe its flights from Gatwick to Puerto Rico in the Caribbean from April 2013.
The flights to San Juan currently run once a week but BA said it had taken a “commercial decision” to cancel the route.
BA said in a statement: “We review our network on an ongoing basis to ensure that all routes both support the profitability of our business and the demand of our customers.
“To optimise our network we have taken a commercial decision to cancel the once-a-week Gatwick to San Juan service from April 2013.”
The carrier only began flying to the Puerto Rican capital, via Antigua, in May 2011 when it operated twice-weekly.
