BMI is to pull out of Belfast International Airport and concentrate all its services from the Province at Belfast City Airport.
This follows British Airways similar decision last year, which leaves the Northern Ireland's largest gateway without flights to the world”s busiest international airport. The last service will be on Sunday, 2 March.
One positive note as far as Belfast International is concerned. bmibaby, the low cost arm of bmi, will include the airport as a destination to be served from a new UK base (see Manchester below).
This follows on from the successful launch by bmibaby of low cost flights to Cardiff and East Midlands from the airport last October.
