BRITTEN-NORMAN AIRCRAFT (BNA) has confirmed that the company has re-started manufacture of the Trislander regional commuter aircraft. Powered by three 260 hp Lycoming engines, the Trislander has proved a popular complement to the Islander and is the only single-pilot civil aircraft capable of carrying 17 passengers. The first new Trislander, which is being built at BNA”s UK factory at Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, will be used as a demonstrator, undertaking a world tour to convert current high levels of interest into the firm orders required for BNA to move back into full scale production. A total of 81 Trislander aircraft were built between 1971 and 1984. http://www.britten-norman.com
