Global travel management company BCD Travel is expanding the ‘anywhere’ booking capabilities of its Tripsource management platform with the introduction of air content.
The new capability, Tripsourcego, provides a platform for business travellers to shop for and directly book hotel and air content through Tripsource. It provides access from any connected device, including smartphones, tablets, computers and voice-enabled assistants.
BCD says air booking capabilities will be rolled out in the coming months, with ground, rail and car booking to follow.
BCD introduced hotel-booking capabilities to Tripsource two years ago and the company has been adding new features since. Last year, it announced a partnership with Concur Travel (SAP Concur’s booking tool) to expand the hotel content available through its own platform.
The company is also enabling third-party online booking tool access through Tripsource. Travellers will be able to directly access their company-preferred OBTs while managing their trip using the app or website.
Tripsourcego will first be introduced to clients in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, with additional markets to follow.
Yannis Karmis, senior vice president of product planning and development at BCD Travel, said: “Business travellers, like everyone else, are looking for ways to simplify their tasks. The easier a platform is to use, the more likely people are to use it. We want to make it as easy and pleasant to book the company’s preferred air and hotel content as it is to buy a mobile charger on Amazon Prime.”
