British Airways will begin direct flights from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Charleston, South Carolina on 4 April 2019.
The service will be the only direct flight from Europe to the southern US city, according to BA. It will run twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays through the summer. Departing flights leave Heathrow at 1720 and arrive in Charleston at 2120 local time. The return service departs at 2250 and lands at 1150 the following day.
Flights will be operated by a B787-8 Dreamliner with World Traveller, World Traveller Plus and Club World seats available to book from today.
In its announcement, BA made a connection to Charleston, as Boeing’s factory in the city is where the new 787-10 Dreamliners are being made. BA will take delivery of 12 of the aircraft between 2020 and 2023.
