BRITISH AIRWAYS is to drop first class on five routes with little premium demand for the winter season. Six Boeing 777s will be reconfigured with the Club World bed style seats which are proving very popular. The BA move follows a trend with other major carriers, including Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa, to drop first on certain mainly leisure operations. In another move BA have resumed flights between London and Caracas after new security measures were put in place at the Venezuelan capital's international airport. BA said that it was satisfied that better screening procedures and new scanning equipment have been installed at Simon Bolivar International Airport in Caracas. http://www.ba.com
