ASTRAEUS, the new Gatwick based UK charter airline has successfully completed its first six months of operation and with its 250,000th passenger. The airline operates four 148-seat Boeing 737-700 aircraft. This winter the airline will enter the ski market ” with flights to destinations including: Geneva, Innsbruck, Lyon and Ostersund, on behalf of Ski Esprit, Ski Olympic, Ski Total and Neilson. On 6 November the airline introduces first direct regular service from Manchester to the Red Sea resort of Taba, in Egypt, for Peltours. The new route complements two existing weekly flights from Gatwick. Together with leading day trips operator, Transun Travel, Astraeus has been behind a major programme of ”Just for a Day” flights from a number of UK airports. These include departures from: Norwich, Leeds Bradford, Birmingham, Aberdeen, Jersey, Newcastle, Humberside, Cardiff, Manchester and Gatwick, to such destinations as Venice, Vienna, Salzburg, Lapland and Iceland.
