Air France has signed an agreement with its representative unions on an employee pay rise after months of strike action.
The deal will see employees (both ground staff and cabin crew) receive a general pay increase of 2 per cent backdated to 1 January 2018, as well as an increase of 2 per cent as of 1 January 2019.
The unions CFDT, CFE-CGC/UNAC, FO/SNPNC, SPAF and UNSA aerian Air France represent 76.4 per cent of the airline’s staff who voted in the last union elections, according to Air France.
A long-running dispute saw Jean-Marc Janaillac resign as Air France KLM CEO after staff rejected his pay offer in May. The airline had suffered 14 days of strikes at that point, which it claims cost hundreds of millions of euros.
Unions agreed to call a temporary halt to industrial action following Janaillac’s resignation to allow the group time to find his replacement in order to continue negotiations.

Air France says the next round of annual salary negotiations will begin in October 2019.
