AIR FRANCE has had a change of mind at London City Airport and will not now be operating Saturday and Sunday services to Paris Charles de Gaulle this winter. Instead the airline, the only carrier to have continuous services at LCY in the 15 years since the airport came into existence, is to transfer the majority of its flights to Paris”Orly Airport, currently not served from London at all. AF will be promoting the route as a 'City to City' service with added benefits for the business traveller such as free car parking at London City and reduced check-in times ” 10 minutes at London City, 20 minutes at Paris Orly. London City Airways originally served Orly and for a brief period in the 1990s the then Air UK, now KLMuk, transferred its Stansted ” Paris service to the airport. Orly has both Metro and bus links to the centre of Paris. The new flight schedule offers five flights in each direction LCY ” ORY, and one flight each way LCY ” CDG.
