STANSTED”S third largest airline Air Berlin says it is considering ordering at least 40 new aircraft from Airbus or Boeing this year, an indication of how strong the regional low cost market is. This summer Air Berlin is flying its City Shuttle from Stansted to ten destinations - Baden-Baden, Berlin, Dortmund, Hamburg, Hanover, Moenchengladbach, Muenster/Osnabruck, Nuremberg, Paderborn and Vienna. After operating from Stansted for just five months Air Berlin achieved number three spot in the airports” league of airlines in terms of passengers carried in February 2003 after Ryanair/Buzz and easyJet - out performing the other 12 scheduled airlines at Stansted put together. http://www.baa.com
