AIR ATLANTA ICELANDIC has signed a contract with Malaysia Airlines to wet-lease three Boeing 747-200 freighters to be based in Kuala Lumpur. The first aircraft has already started operations, a second will begin on 1 November 2002 and the third will commence services on 1 March 2003. The initial contract is confirmed for two years with an option to extend. Air Atlanta will supply the flight deck, maintenance and some support staff to look after the aircraft. Icelandic currently operates 21 aircraft based in countries as varied as Argentina, Dominican Republic, Ireland, Nigeria, Spain and the UK. The current fleet status is eight Boeing 767 and 13 Boeing 747.
