AIR ATLANTA ICELANDIC has signed a lease contract with GECAS (General Electric Capital Aviation Services) for four Boeing 747-200 freighters. This brings the airline”s fleet to 27 aircraft and triples the cargo capacity. The four new aircraft will increase Air Atlanta”s cargo fleet to six 747 aircraft. Three are operating in Malaysia, one will be based in France, another in Germany and the last will be available for ad hoc flights based, initially, in Europe until a further contract is finalised. Air Atlanta Icelandic operates 16 Boeing 747s, including the six freighters, three Boeing 757s and eight Boeing 767s. The airline has ten operating bases in eight countries; Argentina, Dominican Republic, Iceland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and the UK. http://www.atlanta.is
