Aeromexico has extended the availability of free mobile messaging to its Dreamliner fleet following a successful launch on its Boeing 737s earlier this year.
The company became the first Mexican carrier to offer complimentary messaging for passengers, which allows them to send and receive text messages on board through WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and iMessage free of charge.
As of now, the service is also available on Aeromexico’s Dreamliners (B787-8 and 787-9), which operate the airline's long-haul routes to destinations such as London, Paris and Madrid.
To use messaging, passengers need to enable airplane mode on their device and then turn on wifi separately. They will then be able to connect to the Aeromexico wifi network.
For wifi services other than messaging, passengers can purchase in-flight packages in order to download images, videos and emails or surf the web.
