ANA and Japanese group Sojitz Corporation have announced the establishment of ANA Business Jet Co, set to launch on 2 July.
The firm has appointed Jun Katagiri as CEO, with the new company set to organise and arrange for charter flights operated by private jets, as well as other services.
The charters will be scheduled to connect with other ANA services, mainly those bound for Tokyo from North America and Europe. In the initial phase, ANA says connecting private jets will be available at Chicago O’Hare (where it operates double-daily flights to Tokyo) and Los Angeles (where it operates triple-daily services to Tokyo).
In addition, ANA Business Jet Co will be able to arrange for direct charter flights from Japan.
ANA says Japanese executives currently don’t have convenient access to private jets in North America and Europe, which is why it decided to establish the new company.
Katagiri commented: “We are honoured to provide passengers a new and enhanced travel experience. By offering charter flights connecting to ANA scheduled services, travel time will be drastically shortened, providing our customers with convenience, comfort and privacy.”
