All Nippon Airways (ANA) has announced its flight schedule for the 2019 fiscal year (FY2019), including an expanded network of routes with an emphasis on international destinations.
During FY2019, the Japanese airline plans to develop new routes to areas where service was not previously available. New destinations include Perth, Australia and Chennai, India. The carrier says it chose these routes based on its Mid-Term Corporate Strategy for FY2018-2022.
The Narita-Perth daily service will launch on 1 September, while Narita-Chennai will be available for the winter 2019 schedule. In addition, ANA will begin a Haneda-Vienna route on 17 February.
From 31 March, ANA will resume the Nagoya (Chubu)-Shanghai (Pu Dong) flights seven times per week, while its Narita-Chengdu service will increase from four flights per week to seven.
ANA also plans to strengthen the “Tokyo Metropolitan Dual Hub Model” by making full use of both Haneda and Narita airports.
The airline will continue to “optimise the size of the aircraft in accordance with demand trends” in an effort to improve profitability, while the introduction of new B777F large-scale freight aircraft will increase ANA’s cargo capacity.
ANA recently announced it would begin using sustainable aviation fuel on certain flights to San Francisco in an effort to help tackle climate change.
