Hotel firm Wyndham has announced its latest brand, ECHO Suites Extended Stay, which already has 120 new-build properties in development in the US.
ECHO Suites will be Wyndham’s 24th brand and is the company’s fastest growing development brand. Wyndham will use a 124-room prototype for the properties that only requires two acres of land to be built.
Ground was broken on the first property in Plano, Texas, in September with two more hotels in Virginia also starting construction this week. The first ECHO Suites is expected to open in 2023.
Geoff Ballotti, president and CEO of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said: “In six short months, ECHO Suites Extended Stay by Wyndham has secured its place as the fastest growing brand in our development pipeline, highlighting continued, robust demand from both travellers and developers for budget-friendly, extended stay offerings.”
Wyndham is seeking to take advantage of the strength of demand for extended stay accommodation coming out of the pandemic. Occupancies for this type of property outperformed all other hotel segments in the US in 2021.
ECHO Suites properties will feature suites with kitchens averaging 300 square feet in size. They will also include a lobby, fitness centre and laundry.
