Luxury group Taj Hotels is to bring its members' club The Chambers to the UK, as it considers further hotel openings.
Currently it has six locations in India and one in Dubai, but from March next year it is launching the concept at its UK properties, Taj – 51 Buckingham Gate and St. James’ Court – A Taj Hotel.
In India, the club is by invitation only, but for the UK, applicants will be assessed on an individual basis.
Digvijay Singh, area director UK and general manager, said: “We are reimagining Chambers as part of our Aspiration 2022 programme. It will be a global membership."
Corporate memberships will be available for up to three employees. The scheme will offer discounts across the Taj network of hotels and restaurants, as well as free Platinum status of the the hotel group's Inner Circle programme.
As well businesses, Singh said Taj was keen to extend membership to organisations across the sciences, arts and literature to boost networking opportunities.
Meanwhile, the company has confirmed that plans are still in place to open a third UK property at Heathrow, with other hotels in London, Birmingham and Manchester also being considered.
The Chambers, which was originally founded in 1975, could also extend to New York around 2021, the company added.
