Rosewood Hotels & Resorts was today (September 20) announced as the operator chosen to run a newly commissioned property on Grosvenor Square, Mayfair within the existing US Embassy building.
Purchased by real estate investment firm Qatari Diar when the US government announced it was building a new embassy in Wandsworth, the Grade II-listed building will undergo renovations based on designs by lead architect Sir David Chipperfield. Works will maintain the facade of the property, while interiors will be given an update to include 137 guest rooms, five restaurants, six retail units, a spa and a ballroom with space for 1,000 people.
The site is to become Rosewood’s second in London, with its first located in Holborn.
