Accommodation and expenses platform Roomex has introduced a new cost analysis feature that it said highlights savings achieved through hotel bookings and identifies instances where cheaper options were available but not chosen.
Known as Insights Pro, the tool uses search and booking data captured at the time of booking to demonstrate actual savings as well as potential savings. It compares booking data with similar hotels based on like-for-like criteria such as location, hotel rating and cancellation terms, according to the company.
Insights can be prioritised by impact and filtered by city, hotel, policy or individual booker, Roomex said.
“Businesses are under growing pressure to prove that travel spend is controlled, but those conversations often happen after the booking, without a clear record of what was available at the time,” said Roomex president Keith Watson.
“Insights Pro shows exactly what was available at the time when a decision was made. That gives finance teams confidence in the savings already achieved and helps identify behaviours that can reduce costs further.”
Insights Pro is a paid upgrade to Roomex Insights, costing £99 per month per company, and is now available for UK customers.
