Marriott International has boosted its presence in Edinburgh by adding three independent properties to its portfolio.
The hotel company has agreed a deal with Scottish property developer and hotel operator Chris Stewart Group, which will see two existing hotels join Marriott’s “collection” brands with a third property currently being developed.
The Edinburgh Grand will join Marriott’s The Luxury Collection from 1 July when it becomes the brand’s first property in Scotland. The historic hotel is located on St Andrew Square.
Old Town Chambers in Edinburgh’s Royal Mile district will join the Autograph Collection from the same date. Both hotels will be operated by RBH Hospitality Management.
The third property, The Colourist on Princes Street, is due to open in 2027 when it will be part of the Tribute Portfolio collection.
Paul Thomas, vice president of international hotel development EMEA at Marriott International, said: “The addition of The Edinburgh Grand to The Luxury Collection is particularly significant, bringing the brand’s celebrated blend of heritage and high-end hospitality to Scotland for the first time.
“We’re proud to partner with Chris Stewart Group, whose local insight and commitment to excellence align closely with our vision.”
Chris Stewart, CEO of Chris Stewart Group, added: “Joining forces with Marriott International allows us to elevate each of these properties while staying true to their individual character and the spirit of Edinburgh.”
