BTN Europe presents an overview of business travel and MICE predictions for this year
ExCeL London - 24-25 February 2021
Mandarin Oriental is to open a second London hotel in the upmarket Mayfair area.
The Hanover Square development will feature 50 hotel rooms and 80 residences, as well as a fine dining restaurant, lobby lounge, bar, spa, indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and private roof terrace with views over Mayfair.
The property is being developed by Clivedale London and designed by London-based architectural firm Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2021.
James Riley, group CEO of Mandarin Oriental, said: “We are delighted to be opening a second Mandarin Oriental property in London, and look forward to extending the group’s legendary hospitality to another of the city’s most exclusive addresses.
“Operating two complementary hotels in a single destination is something that the group has already done successfully in Hong Kong.”
The Residences at Mandarin Oriental will be located in the building’s upper floors.
Hanover Square will be connected to the Crossrail project next year, with the new Bond Street station on the Elizabeth Line due to open in 2018, which will eventually offer trains through to Heathrow.
Mandarin Oriental’s existing London property in Knightsbridge is currently undergoing major refurbishment works, with renovated suites the first to be unveiled.
