Hyatt is planning a major expansion in Portugal including two new properties in the country’s capital Lisbon.
The US-based hotel firm is due to open both Andaz Lisbon and The Standard, Lisbon next year, alongside new Hyatt Regency properties in the Algarve region and the Cape Verde islands.
Andaz Lisbon is scheduled in open in the first quarter of 2026 and will mark the brand’s debut in Portugal. The 170-room property will also include a rooftop restaurant and terrace lounge, as well as a fitness centre.
The Standard, Lisbon is also expected to open during 2026, with the hotel based in the historic renovated Palácio Santa Clara. It will offer 197 rooms, alongside a rooftop terrace, spa and gardens.
The two new properties in Lisbon will complement the existing Hyatt Regency Lisbon, which opened in 2022.
Helena Burstedt, Hyatt’s regional vice president of development for Iberia, said: “Portugal continues to be a key focus for Hyatt’s brand growth in Southern Europe.
“As Portugal matures as a market in the hospitality and residential investment space, we are excited to expand our portfolio and bring our diverse portfolio of brands to more destinations that matter to our guests, members and owners.”
