CitizenM has made its debut in Ireland with the opening of a property in central Dublin.
The Netherlands-based hotel chain’s latest outpost is the 245-room CitizenM Dublin St Patrick’s, which opened last week.
The hotel, which is located opposite St Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin’s The Liberties district, includes a public living room area, canteen, open-air terrace and four meeting rooms.
The property’s décor is based around the display of works from local artists through a collaboration with the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
CitizenM is set to be acquired by US hotel giant Marriott International in a $355 million deal, which was announced in April. The chain, which opened its first hotel at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport in 2008, now has 36 properties in 21 cities in Europe, North America and Asia.
