Business travel spending is going to grow by almost 70% in some countries in Europe, according to research by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) on the amount spent on business travel by residents and non-residents within each country.
Spending in Belgium is forecast to rise from a forecast €5.7bn in 2016 to €9.6bn in 2026, says the organisation. Business travel will also rise by a similar percentage in Ireland, rising from €3.7bn to €6.1bn over the same period.

The United Kingdom is the biggest business travel market in Europe, according to the figures and will remain so. Current spend stands at £67.6bn and will rise to £88bn in 2026.
Overall, business travel spending in the 15 countries will rise from €278.0bn to €349.5bn, an increase of 25.7%.
