Korean Air is to resume services from Seoul to both Rome and Barcelona from early September for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
The airline’s flights to these two European destinations have been suspended since March 2020 and the planned resumption continues Korean’s restoration of its long-haul network, which saw services to Milan and Vienna resume in July.
The route between Incheon and Rome Fiumicino airports will restart on 1 September and operate three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Korean Air’s Incheon-Barcelona route will resume one day later on 2 September, with flights scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Jumin Kim, western Europe general manager and director at Korean Air, said: “The European market is recovering faster than expected, and we are seeing a strong comeback in travel demand.
“We have recently resumed our Milan and Vienna routes and increased capacity on other routes. We will continue to closely monitor market trends and reinstate our remaining network accordingly as we work towards full recovery.”
