France has announced that it will offer rapid Covid tests at its
airports for passengers heading to the United States and Italy and for
passengers arriving in France from countries in the red zone, as designated by
the new traffic light system being rolled out by the European Union.
Health minister Jean-Baptiste
Djebbari said the antigen tests would be put in place at airports
between now and the end of October.
The minister said that the tests
would also be available for passengers travelling to and from France’s overseas territories.
Djebbari told France’s CNews:
"We are harmonising with the help of antigenic tests, especially in
Europe, all the health protocols which today are a little different."
He said the rollout of the tests would “improve the fluidity and
safety of travel".
